FBU MOTION

War Crimes

This TUC’s Women’s’ Conference applauds the determination of the international community to pursue to conviction those responsible for committing war crimes in Rwanda, the former Yugoslavia and in particular in 1982 the massacre in the refugee camps of Shatila and Sabra.

Conference is particularly determined, as in previous years that those who perpetrate the crimes of rape and the degradation of women and children, wherever they occur, are brought to trial to protect the dignity due to all human beings including the women of the world.

FBU EMERGENCY MOTION

Menwith Hill
In view of

• the danger to the survival of the human race posed by the US ‘Star wars’ plan

• the recently revealed (February 2002) unauthorized decision to upgrade the base at Menwith Hill to accommodate MILSTAR (The latest US military communications system)

This Conference resolves:

1. to welcome the re-establishment of the women’s peace camp at Menwith Hill

2. to support and promote the mass women’s demonstration planned for 12 December 2002; this date marking the 20th anniversary of the ‘surround the base’ demonstration at Greenham Common.
